Case Review After Forensic Interview

  • MDT Case Review meetings are on the 1st Thursday of every month at noon, at the CAC.

  • The purpose of this meeting is to improve communication between agencies, and often reveals additional information affecting agency decisions.

  • Case Review is an important step in the MDT approach; Active Participation and dialog during the case review is essential.

  • New cases will be provided a full case review while ongoing cases require discussion/updates every quarter


The following is the type of information that should be provided for each new case:

 

Child Protective Services

  • A brief summary of the referral

  • Summary of the child’s disclosure (if applicable)

  • Relationship of the victim to the alleged perpetrator

  • Are there any other victims, siblings, or offender that are not on the staffing list

  • Corrections on demographic information

  • Case disposition and whether the case is open/closed, and anticipated actions for case

  • Present issues, questions, problems, or needs for team to provide input or suggestions

Law Enforcement

  • A brief summary of the referral

  • Summary of the child’s disclosure (if applicable)

  • Are the charges being filed and if so, what is the offense

  • Suspect information

  • Did the suspect give a voluntary statement

  • Are there different details or other affidavits, and if so, from whom?

  • Does the suspect have a previous criminal history

  • Present issues, questions, problems, or needs for team to provide input or suggestions

Prosecution (Criminal/Civil)

  • Present any prosecution information on cases being staffed

  • Present prosecution information on previous cases now going to court (Grand Jury, pleas, trials, etc.)

  • Answer questions team members have regarding criminal prosecution issues

  • Provide consultation on cases being staffed

  • Present concerns, issues, or needs to the team members

Mental Health Professionals

  • Present updates or status reports on clients involved in cases being staffed

  • Present any concerns or issues on cases being staffed or needs from the team

Medical Professionals

  • Present medical information on cases being staffed for clients who have received forensic exams

  • Answer medical questions on other cases being staffed

  • Present issues, questions, problems, or needs to the team for input

CAC Staff

  • Present victim service and social service referrals, issues, and concerns

  • Provide suggestion from team members

  • Present issues, questions, problems, or needs to the team for input
